I am a parent at this school and I can’t be happier to support a school that is dedicated to teach our kids and to help them be the best they can be. My son is in 7th grade he is doing wonderful. I’m happy to have my son in a school that provides the support our kids need. Great teachers, wonderful staff, love the way the principal always like to reward students who do better. Thank you MSA-1 for all the great job..

Parent Testimonial:
Over the years, I have been involved in public education in one way or another with my kids’ education. I have sent my kids to so-called “best public schools”. However, I was much disappointed with the teacher attention that my kids got. At times, I tried to talk to teachers and see if they could consider my kids’ strengths and weaknesses to adjust instruction a little bit for my kids. However, the teachers seemed to be surprised with my kind advances to suggest that they may try different things to challenge and accelerate instruction for my kids. I was rather dismayed with the responses from teacher after teacher. There were many dedicated teachers and they were doing amazing things and they were willing to differentiate a little, but the district required them not to deviate from annual, monthly, weekly, or daily plans that they were following. The culture of the school and the district was not framed on challenging the students to their fullest potential. Rather, the culture was to teach to the standard and test to the standard. There was nothing beyond that.
Magnolia provides a different kind of choice. I found that teachers are willing to listen to me at least. Even if there are no changes that they could offer, you feel that something is right. I did not get the feeling of being ignored or of you cannot teach me my job attitude. My kids feel safe at Magnolia and personal teacher attention is visible on my kids. The teachers provide a well-coordinated attention to my kids not just in classroom but also in the whole school. The schooling at Magnolia is not a canned food approach in which everybody does something; Magnolia has a differentiated approach in which student abilities and characteristics are taken into account to offer the best possible instruction to the student realizing that each student is different.
While public schools get their act together to pay attention to the parents, Magnolia is my choice! Why? I see that my kids have a better future with Magnolia. I see that my kids are trusted to nurturing environment at Magnolia. Thank you Magnolia, for offering a better schooling choice!

I know, some people are telling a lot of Gulen charter schools lies about Magnolia Schools. I recommend one thing to all those. Check out the Washington Post’s High School Challenge Index that ranks America’s Most Challenging High Schools. Let me give you a hint about a school showing up among the top 50, Magnolia (48). Now you tell me this and that, I give you a link from a completely objective source.

My kid is one of the witnesses of the quality education provided in Magnolia, but I don’t want you to believe me. Check out that link and try to tell me that our teachers are doing badly. Let me give you another hint, this time about your answer. You should say “No way they are doing badly, we were the ones doing wrong” if you have conscience of course. So, start doing something good for them by stopping those lies first, at least.

Couple of weeks ago, our principal in Magnolia Science Academy sent us an e-mail with a link to Washington Post’s website at the end. He said in his e-mail that Magnolia Science Academy had increased its ranking in Washington Post’s America’s Most Challenging High Schools national ranking as follows; 285, 115, 117 and 48 in the years of 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, respectively. This is growth and I consider growth as the key element to show progress in anything. Magnolia Science Academy excels, as you may easily see from her rankings, in challenging her students and this also brings growth to student success pretty much in every field. Magnolia Science Academy teachers enlighten our kids making them believe once they push themselves to the limit, they’ll see that there is nothing in this life they cannot achieve. Tomorrow will be in good hands with these kids just being there for our future.
Thanks Magnolia Science Academy for being with our children on the roads of accomplishment; we are grateful for you showing them that there is no limit in getting better in life.

At first, my son was quite hesitant about attending Magnolia Science Academy when I had told him that he was not going to continue 6th grade at his old school. He was sad at first and asked “why?”. “You will be challenged”, I replied. I told him that I would be able to see actual grades instead of number scale grades, and I would be able to monitor his progress, missing assignments and behavior. Moreover, I’ve heard good stories from other parents as to how well their children did in all sense academically and as an individual.
Some of the positive experiences that I have observed as a parent in this school is that, the administration is very engaged in the progress of students. I am amazed that they are very friendly and that they know every student and most of the parents by name. That is something that I have never encountered with any school before. It’s nice to feel welcomed in my son’s school. I really like that they have the extra tutoring which helps all students improve and gives them the motivation to do better. Also the Coolsis is a great tool for parents to be on top of their kids’ progress.
For that, I thank all MSA staff members.

We were all honored when our son selected for the Lego Robotics club as well as the invitations to the Math club. Study Table has been good for him too as he gets focused time to work on the homework that challenges him the most. He has really come out of his shell and gaining confidence in his scholastic abilities.
Our son was absent from school for about a week, due to an illness. While he was out, the staff and every teacher was very helpful by providing with the necessary materials for our kid to study. Once he returned, everyone helped him and all the teachers went out of their way to get our child back on track.
I’m thankful for the dedicated Magnolia Science Academy staff..

It’s sad how a few people out there are trying to defame Magnolia Science Academy with lies and invented “Gulen charter schools” term. In order to support our school, I want to share my thoughts about MSA, where my son attends:
Without a doubt, the most positive experience my child and my family in general has been the one-on-one support my son has received at Magnolia Science Academy and the amazing communication between teachers and us.
The entire team; teachers, administrators, counselors, and resources services have spent a significant deal of time and effort to support my son’s learning. I was very pleased to know that he recently made the honor roll. This is the same child that was diagnosed with some form of learning disability (was told by many before MSA), who would always do only “ok” at his best. Thanks to the academic and personal involvement by MSA staff, he is exceeding everyone’s expectations and continuing to grow.
I think believing in the student, caring the student, and working as a team (parents, teachers and administrators) is one thing that I think all public schools should adopt. Magnolia Science Academy is beating the odds year after year. When MSA sends some of the news regarding their achievements like their great rankings in California and Nationwide, it is no surprise to me.
I am glad, some of my friends had suggested MSA to us. After one educational year, I am delighted to observe how MSA improved my son’s progress.

My daughter is a teenager and likes to go school, this tells me that her school has good and caring teachers. The school is small, so it’s almost like a private school. Normally, at that age children are not that fund of going to school, they rather prefer to enjoy freedom. However, I am glad, my daughter’s school is a nice fit for her.
I believe that the strongest points of MSA is that the teachers are all involved in the well-being and advancement of their students. I don’t believe that this much individual attention and motivation for student advancement is found in very many schools, including some private schools. I guess we are lucky to have MSA in our district.

Recently, when surfing on the Web, I came across with some Gulen charter schools comments. I also found Parents4Magnolia website, and I thank Magnolia Science Academy parents, who’re supporting their schools by sharing their experiences. I want to share my own thoughts about our school:
All the staff at MSA are kind, caring and loving. They know all the students by name and beyond and they listen to what anyone has to say. They are open-minded and fair and exhibit a true love for the children, the school and their job. They have never made me feel bad as a parent if I am unsure as to what to do regarding a situation, they offer kind, constructive help and they believe in what they do.
I really enjoy the unique programs that are offered at MSA. What my child learns in Getting Ready For Life class is such a wonderful idea, I wish I had that when I was in school. Also the fact that most/all of his graded tests that he brings home are fill in the answer and not multiple choice which I think is great and really teaches the children to study and solve the problems rather than answer is a, b,c…. The elective classes have been lots of fun for my child and they learn so much in such a short time. He states that he likes all his classes and all of his teachers are wonderful.
I know many kids don’t like to go to school at all after 4th or 5th grade. Somehow our education system starts breaking at about those grades. Magnolia magically keeps students motivated to learn and enjoy at school.
Thank you, MSA!

I can’t thank Magnolia Science Academy teachers enough for the future they are providing for my child. They are not just great educators, but great role models as well. The amount of attention given to my child here is beyond comparison. It really shows when you’re dealing with people who do what they do because they love it. If I had to sum up the MSA teachers in one word it would be “transforming”. My son was never into school until we enrolled him at Magnolia, and now he is one of the top students in his class. They made him realize his potential and installed in him the confidence he was lacking and for that I am eternally thankful.
