Due to technical difficulties I was unable to update this blog. I’d like to offer my sincere apologies to the fellow parents and to the readers.
I’ll try to catch up with the comments and contributions made during this period. Here is the one submitted on June 19, 2011:
The last week of the school coincided with the Father’s Day week. This year, it is much special for me than the earlier ones, as my daughter told me that she wants to be a doctor.
At first, I thought she was kidding, but no, she was seriously motivated. This is a sign of a great change, as she was always a student below the average. It was only after enrolling to this new charter school that she seemed to be doing better. At least, my wife and I wouldn’t have to “drag” her to the school every single morning as we used to do before.
Quite frankly, we had heard about her progress from her teachers before, but hearing this from her is really rewarding. Today, she told us that she is enjoying her new school and that her teacher was inspiring her to be a pediatrician.
Words cannot express my happiness. Thank you Magnolia, what could a dad expect more as a gift?
