Time to time, I drive near this building, yet never realized that it was a school until I started looking for other school options for my child. Just like any other parent, I wanted the best education for my kid and was not quite happy with his current school. As I started to consider switching him to a different school, I asked my friends and they all recommended private and magnet schools, except for one who has a daughter with a minor disability. She told me that she is extremely happy with her daughter’s school and asked me to check it out. I made a brief Google search, found the address, and stopped by the next day for a school tour. Upon arrival, I realized that it was the same building that I had been driving by, for many months not even knowing it.
To tell the truth, it did not quite look like a school from the outside. Other schools that I had checked had way better facilities. As I was waiting for the tour, I had a chance to observe students during transition. They all seemed to enjoy being there and looked happy. The tour reinforced my initial observations and I knew that I had found a better school for my son. Since his enrollment at Magnolia Science Academy, he is very excited and eager to go to school every day, and he loves his teachers. His favorite after school activities are mind games and art club.

Last week, one of the parents whom I know through parent meetings, told me about the rumors claiming a connection with Gulen charter schools. I did not exactly understand what she was talking about, but I wanted to do my own research on Gulen charter schools. What I saw on the Internet was quite surprising. I watched some videos first, and particularly liked testimonials of Former President Bill Clinton and Former California Secretary of Education Mazzoni. After viewing the video clips, reading articles about the issue, I am relieved and assured that all the allegations are bogus and baseless. I advised my son not to believe in everything he reads on the Internet.
Overall, I am pretty happy with Magnolia’s education and recommend it to all parents who are looking for a safe school for their children.
